Staff and students alike may well be affected by slow or variable internet connections which in turn will make many aspects of online teaching and learning troublesome.
To minimise difficulties, and be inclusive, we recommend:
- reducing file sizes before uploading learning resources
- hosting videos on ReCap and Stream
- removing time pressures
- appreciate that students may need to join online meetings without video to conserve bandwidth
- check in with students - and talk openly about connection difficulties
See our guide: Considerations for teaching and studying with poor internet (.doc) for more infomation.
