Software for Teaching 22-23

The planning and delivery of teaching activities rely on the right software, delivered on time. We will incorporate lessons learnt from previous deployments to ensure success.
For the academic year 2022/23, NUIT will collect teaching software requirements for the following:

  • Windows-based applications used in campus-based labs and PC cluster rooms
  • Windows applications used in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
  • Linux based applications using Azure Labs

How to request software

  • Go to https://softwaredb.ncl.ac.uk/ (Currently only available on-campus or via University network)
  • Log in with your university username and password
  • The modules you lead will be listed, click on a module, click on add/request new software and select from the options:

1. Request same software as 2021/2022
2. Copy software applications from another module
3. Request a new set of applications or add new applications to the list
4. Request new software (reviewed on a case-by-case basis)

Please check out the following guides and videos to know more about the software database and to help you complete the software requirements form:

Completing the week number on the request form will help to ensure the software is delivered on time. We’ll aim to deliver applications for UAT as and when they are ready.
We will review requests for major changes to existing installations or new additions on a case-by-case basis.
