Interruption to SAP-related systems 12:00 Friday 24th January until 09:00 Tuesday 28th January

All SAP production systems need to be shut down for upgrade to S/4HANA and essential planned maintenance from 12:00 on Friday 24th January until 09:00 Tuesday 28th January.

For all users of the SAP GUI and the MyApps system, the main changes brought with S/4HANA are to the look and feel of the interface, with the theme changing from Blue Crystal to Belize. The change in theme makes the screens look quite different, with the menu and command toolbar being combined into one, and most of the button icons replaced with text. The functionality of SAP remains largely the same in most areas.

Users of the SAP GUI and MyApps systems are encouraged to view a useful guide, produced by the SAP Training Team, which demonstrates the changes that users will experience following the upgrade. The guide is available here.

During the maintenance period above, the following services will be affected:

  ·         All SAP systems e.g. Student Lifecycle Management; HR; Payroll; Finance; Purchasing and Sales.

·         The Student Self Service Portal (S3P) https://s3p.ncl.ac.uk/login/index.aspx

·         The Postgraduate applicant portal https://aspire.ncl.ac.uk/

·         MyApps (Payslips, MyDetails, Postgraduate Selector Portal, Manage Student Work, My Working Hours and Approve Student Work)

·         All SAP portal systems accessed via MyWorkPlace Portal https://myworkplace.ncl.ac.uk/irj/portal, including:

•               P2P system (SRM)

•               Business Warehouse reports (BW)

•               CRM Interaction Centre (CRM)

•               Online Expenses

•               Agent portal (PG admissions)

•               Student Information Gateway (SIG)

•               UG/PGCE Admissions

•               SAP CRM integration with SAP Contact Centre (BCM)

Additionally, the libraries will be unable to renew or issue new smartcards during this period.
