Phishing/Scam email: You have received a new document via OneDrive

Phishing email: "Υοu have received а nеw dοсumеnt via ОnеDгіνе"

We are aware of a phishing email with the subject "You have a new document" “or “You have a new document from OneDrive”.  

The email may appear to be sent by a member of the University or someone you know. When opened, you are asked to click a link to access a document which contains a link to a phishing site.

Please be aware that this is not a genuine email and should just be deleted. 

What should I do?

  • Simply delete the email.
  • Don't respond, open any attachments or click any links.

Please remember:

  • The University will never ask for your password.
  • If you receive an email that asks for your password or financial details, it will be a scam.

There is no requirement to report receipt of this email to the IT Service Desk. However, if you have clicked on the link and provided your login details, please contact the IT Service Desk immediately on 0191 208 5999 for further guidance.
