Bogus boss emails
We have received a number of reports of ‘bogus boss’ emails being received by colleagues. This is where the sender alters the display name on an external email address in order to make the email appear as though it has been sent from a senior member of staff.
If you receive a copy of the email, please report it following the procedures outlined at https://services.ncl.ac.uk/itservice/core-services/email/guides/spamandphishing/ under “Reporting uncaught or false-positive messages”
If you have either clicked on any link/opened any attachment contained in the email or provided personal information, you must phone the IT Service Desk on 0191 208 5999 immediately.
