IT Kit – Return, Repurpose or Recycle Scheme
To support the University’s commitment to sustainability and cyber security, NUIT are hosting an IT Kit - Return, Repurpose or Recycle Scheme from Monday 2 to Friday 6 December.
During this week, colleagues and students are invited to call in to one of the locations listed below to hand over any unwanted computing devices, equipment, and peripherals – whether it’s a University device or your own. It also doesn’t matter whether it’s working or not – both working and non-working equipment will be accepted.
What can I drop off?
- Laptops
- Desktop computers
- Tablets/iPads*
- iMacs and MacBooks*
- Screens/monitors
- Computer peripherals: headsets. keyboard, mouse, speakers
- Computer parts
- Laptop batteries
- Docking stations
- Cables and leads
- Memory sticks and internal or external drives
- Printers
- Mobile phones
- Game consoles and controllers
*NUIT kindly ask that Apple devices are unlocked and wiped prior to handover at the drop-off points. Please see FAQs.
Please note: White goods, lab equipment, or sharp items will not be accepted as part of this scheme.
How do I drop my items off?
Simply bring items to any of the drop-off points listed below. All locations are open from 9:00 – 16:00 Monday 2 to Thursday 5 December, and 9:00 – 12:00 on Friday 6 December.

- Baddiley Clarke Building (Foyer Area)
- Frederick Douglass Centre (NUIT Support Hub)
If you need to arrange a collection for large items that can’t be carried safely or bulk requests (more than 10 items), raise a ticket in the IT portal. Include as much information as possible about what needs to be collected, along with an image that can be attached to the ticket.
