Service Description

The File Drop-Off service provides members of the University with the ability to share large data files securely with others where the size of the data file is too large to be practicably sent by other means (such as an email attachment).

Features

  • Members of the University may share files with external users and vice versa
  • File transfer is secure (encrypted via https)
  • Storage is temporary; files will be deleted after 14 days

Users

The File Drop-Off service is available to all members of the University. Files may be shared with external users, however external users may not share files with other external users.

Service Hours

24 x 7 x 365

The network maintenance period is 07:00-09:00 every Tuesday. Further planned maintenance times will be publicised in advance if there will be a disruption to the service.

Level of Service

System housekeeping is performed nightly; unclaimed file drop offs are deleted automatically after 14 days.

File drop-offs are backed up daily.

No explicit registration is required.
