The provision of printing services (MFD and LaserJet) to PSS staff on campus using a managed desktop.

Service Hours

Availability of the printing service is 24 hours a day, seven days a week. However there is no guarantee of service or support out of hours (09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday excluding University closure).

Routine updates are scheduled between 07:00-9:00 on Tuesday mornings. Any planned maintenance that could cause service disruption outside of this period will be communicated in advance. 

Level of Service

Target service availability: 99% of service hours, excluding advertised and planned maintenance downtime

All incidents & service requests relating to this service will be handled according to the IT Service Incident Management and Major Incident Management processes.

All requests relating to this service will be handled according to the Service Request Management process.

User Responsibility

It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that the printers are operated in the correct manner and consumables are ordered/requested when appropriate. Advice and instructions on the use of the printers / Multi-Function Devices can be received from your superuser or printer admin user or via the IT Service Desk.

Users of the King’s Gate pull printing service are responsible for ensuring their smart card is registered on the system, please contact one of the super users in your area to arrange. 

Costs

Departments are responsible for printer consumables requisitions and LaserJet / MRD procurement.
