An updated version of SAP will be installed to production systems in February 2024. Development and test systems commence technical upgrades from June 2023 onwards.

Key dates for the upgrade are listed below. These dates are dependent on successful testing in Development and Test SAP systems, following on from successful testing in Impact Analysis systems.

*Change Freeze

While the upgrade is ongoing, it is important that no fresh developments or changes occur in the system. During the 2023-24 upgrade, there will be a change freeze from the refresh of the QA system until the production upgrade is complete and the hypercare period has ended. Allowed changes during this phase are critical production issue resolutions only.

SAP GUI users only: Rollout of SAP GUI V8

The latest version of SAP GUI (V8) is now available to download from Software Centre.

We recommend SAP GUI users download V8 at their earliest convenience as the support for V7.70 will be discontinued on 9 April 2024. Although SAP GUI V8 features the same SAP Interface as V7.70, users of V8 should benefit from security and performance improvements.

Rollout Timetable

• From Dec 2023: SAP GUI V8 made available in Software Centre for download.
• From 19 February 2024: Users still connecting to SAP via GUI V7.70 will be able to login but will be asked to update to V8 via Software Centre before 9 April 2024.
• From 9 April 2024: Attempted logins to SAP GUI V7.70 will be blocked, and users will be instructed to update via Software Centre.
