Viewing members of a list
NOTE: Depending on the configuration of the list, this function may be restricted to listowners only.
This can be done in one of two ways :
- by sending an email command to the list server
- by using the web interface
Using an e-mail command
To request a listing of all members of a list, send an e-mail to the address sympa@newcastle.ac.uk containing the commands :
REVIEW listname STOP
where listname is, of course, the name of the list you wish to review the membership of. The server should return a list of email addresses of the list's members.
Using the web interface
To view the members of a list :
- Log in to https://lists.ncl.ac.uk/
- Select the list in question from the Your Lists menu on the left...(as listowner, you should see a blue Admin button to the left of the list's name - click this button
- On the right hand side of the screen, click the Manage Subscribers tab:
- You should then be able to see the list of members on screen
- If the list is large, you can use the alphabetic tabs on the page to narrow your list down.
- If you are a listowner, you can request a flat-text (i.e. machine-readable) version of this by clicking the Dump button near the top of the page. This should return an unformatted list of addresses that can be easily cut and pasted elsewhere.
