Outlook Apps for mobiles and tablets
The Microsoft Outlook app is the supported way to access University email on your phone or tablet.
- Download Outlook for iOS from the App Store (compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch)
- Download Outlook for Android app from the Google Play Store
Set up email in the Outlook App
Once you've downloaded the app you can add your University account:
- Tap 'Get Started' or go to Settings > Add Account > Add Email Account
- Enter your University login ID (e.g. student: b6901063@newcastle.ac.uk staff: nmb45@newcastle.ac.uk), then tap Continue.
- You will then be taken to a university login page. Login with your University username and password to complete the setup, you may also be prompted for an MFA authorisation. If asked whether Outlook should be allowed to control security settings, choose yes.
You can customise the mobile app to stay connected the way you want.
Microsoft Outlook App Guides
Non-Outlook Apps
NUIT don't provide support for non-Outlook email apps (eg, "built-in" applications on Phones, Tablets, etc). Please see the documentation provided by the application or device vendor in order to connect to Newcastle University email. The application must support "modern authentication" (sometimes called "OAuth") in order to work with this service.
