Microsoft Development Software for STEM
As a benefit of the University's licence arrangements with Microsoft, the University has access to Microsoft's Azure Dev Tools for Teaching program.
This allows students of STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and staff teaching those subjects to access Microsoft development software for educational use. The software can be dowloaded and installed on a personal PC or laptop.
The offer includes many of Microsoft's popular tools, including:
- SQL Server
- Microsoft Project
- Visio
- Visual Studio
Note: This software program was previously known as Microsoft Imagine.
To access the offer visit the Azure Dev Tools for Teaching site, login by clicking the "Sign in" link on the right hand side and then following the instructions to access the Azure Platform.
Azure Dev Tools for Teaching Important Information:
- When using software as part of the Azure Dev Tools for Teaching program, you must comply with the Azure Dev Tools for Teaching Agreement. This agreement is between you and Microsoft. The software is not owned or supported by the University
- Ensure that you read and understand the system requirements before installing any Microsoft products
- You may use the software for non-commercial purposes only; this includes instructional use, research and/or design, development and testing of projects for class assignments or personal projects
- You may not use the software for any for-profit software development
- When you are no longer a registered student/member of staff in a department that is a member of the Azure Dev Tools for Teaching program, you may no longer receive updates for your personal use computer. However, you may continue to use previously installed software on your computer, provided you continue to follow the program guidelines
