Office for iPad
Office for iPad can be downloaded for free, but requires an Office 365 subscription to edit or create new documents. Newcastle students and staff can use their University credentials with Office apps for iPad.
We don’t currently provide access to OneDrive Pro with Office 365, so to save files you will also need a personal Microsoft account with associated OneDrive https://onedrive.live.com.
These instructions show how to associate Office for iPad with your University Office 365 account and add your personal OneDrive to the application.
Download Office Apps for iPad
- Go to the app store and select the office apps you would like to download e.g. “Microsoft Word for iPad”
- Launch the app once it installs and work through the welcome screens
- At the “Sign in now” tap “Sign in”
- Tap through the “Sign in now” prompt
- When asked for your email address enter your campusid@newcastle.ac.uk eg b1234567@newcastle.ac.uk
- When asked to sign in, enter your usual campus Username and password
- You're all done - you can now create and edit documents!
Connect Office with your existing OneDrive
If you already have personal OneDrive, you can now connect it to Office:
- Tap your account picture to show your account details
- Tap “+ Add a Service”
- Select OneDrive
- Sign in, this time with your personal Microsoft Account and password (these details will be remembered)
