OriginPro is for Windows only. There is no Mac version.

The University has an active subscription agreement for Origin Pro for schools within the SAgE and FMS faculties.

To request a copy of the software for use on a university computer, please raise a service request using the following request type:

Please be sure to state that the software you wish to obtain is Origin; and also provide the name of the machine you wish it to be installed on.

Staff - There are a limited number of licences available for use on personal machines.

Students - Origin Pro offers 2 options for use on personal machines:

A 6-month Origin Pro Learning Edition Licence is available free of charge. This is available for full time students with a university email address, and can only be used on a personal machine (i.e. not one owned by the university). This version of Origin Pro limits the number of windows in a project to 12. The licence can be obtained directly from OriginLab.

A 12-month Origin Pro Student Edition Licence is available at a discounted price of £60 (including VAT). This version of Origin Pro limits the number of windows in a project to 30. The licence can be obtained from Silverdale Scientific. Please note that a purchase under this scheme is a contract directly between the student and Silverdale Scientific, and support for the resulting software is not provided by the university.

Active subscriptions can be moved between computers.

Overseas Campuses - Our agreement does not cover installs on our overseas campuses.
