Digital Media Services

NUIT Digital Media Services are a core service providing free professional media production and consultancy services to the university.

Our in-house team of creative experts specialise in producing high quality and engaging content to support education, research and institutional promotion and engagement.  Our showreels below give a flavour of the quality and diversity of content that we can create and deliver.

We are proud that several of our videos have been nominated for Learning on Screen awards, an annual competition hosted by the British Universities Film and Video Council (BUFVC).  We have also had some fantastic feedback from colleagues across the Univeristy

"It was an absolute delight to work with the whole team. This was quite a complex project spread over several different dates and locations, and the professionalism and efficiency of the whole team could not have been bettered. We're very lucky to have such a professional service in-house." - Melanie Reed, Head of Corporate Communications

If you are considering creating a video and would like to explore using our services then please see our request process.

  • We have now restarted filming on-site and, to ensure yours and our teams safety, we have put COVID-safe procedures in place to enable us to do so.
  • We are currently working through a backlog of projects that were put on hold due to COVID-19, meaning that our resource and availability is limited, and will likely be so for the remainder of this calendar year.  We will still consider any requests submitted however those with flexible or longer-term deadlines and/or with less complex technical requirements may stand a better chance of being commissioned.
  • We will happily work with colleagues to provide advice and guidance on how to self-record good quality video content and are offering a limited editing service+ to enhance self-filmed content and give it a corporate and professional look.

+ Please note that we do not have resource to edit self-recorded educational content created for delivery via Canvas or Zoom recordings, however there is some excellent advice and guidance on the Learning and Teaching web pages.
