Temporary licences available for remote working
GraphPad Prism licences are tied to specific machines. If you are temporarily unable to access the machine where you would normally use Prism, you can download a trial version that will be valid for 30 days.
The trial version of Prism can be downloaded from https://www.graphpad.com/demos/.
Access to SAS software is available via https://www.sas.com/en_ie/software/university-edition.html#for-students-learners.
Snagit screen and video capture is being made available by Techsmith free of charge for use up to the 30 June 2020.
The software can be downloaded from the Snagit Download Page
Techsmith has also made available Snagit Tutorials to help you get started.
For existing users of Origin Pro, temporary licences are being made available for download from https://www.originlab.com/covid19.aspx
The licences will initially be provided for use up 20 May 2020.
SketchUp has made temporary licences available for students needing access who will not be able to access this software from university machines during the coming weeks.
The licences will initially be provided for use up to 30 June 2020.

Adobe Creative Cloud
Adobe has made temporary licences available for people needing access to Adobe Creative Cloud who will not be able to access this software from university machines during the coming weeks.
These temporary licences allow access to the Desktop versions of the applications only; they cannot be used to install Adobe Creative Cloud software on mobile devices such as iPads or phones.
Please note that the majority of the Creative Cloud desktop applications (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc) are not available to Chromebook users. For minimum system requirements, see the individual applications listed on the Adobe website.
The licences will initially be provided for use up to 31 May 2020.
Installation on loan machines: There have been some issues installing this software on machines loaned by the university for home use. If you are trying to install this software on a loan machine and the download keeps stalling, please follow the instructions included in the second file linked below.

Microsoft Office 365 Professional Plus (Free)
Microsoft Office 365 Professional Plus is available free of charge to students as part of Microsoft's Student Advantage programme. Further details on our Office 365 Pro Plus page.
Microsoft Azure Dev Tools For Teach (previously known as Imagine)
Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Medicine (STEM) students have access to the enhanced "Azure Dev Tools for Teaching" offer, which includes over 170 of Microsoft’s applications.
All Students have access the standard "Azure Dev Tools for Teaching" offer which provides software development tools.
Students, educators, and academic institutions worldwide have free* access to Autodesk software—the same tools used by millions in industry today.
*may be used solely for purposes directly related to learning, teaching, training, research or development and shall not be used for commercial, professional or any other for-profit purposes.

Accessing Applications Remotely
The Remote Application Service (RAS) gives you access to University software, internal web pages, and your own documents – 24/7 from any Internet connection, on your own computer (PC, Mac or Linux). Many of the popular PC cluster applications are available through RAS. (Exceptions are certain specialised software packages.)
