NUIT AV Supported spaces

The safety of all staff and students is paramount therefore we are following University guidance and have made the following changes to our service provision:

  1. In-venue AV equipment demonstations can only take place on a 1-1 basis when no audience is present.  Physical distancing must be observed by both parties during the demonstration
  2. Where technical problems are encountered in supported spaces, we will only be able to provide remote support via telephone.  Any identified faults will be rectified as soon as possible once the space is unoccupied.
  3. Wireless microphones have been removed from all enabled spaces for the foreseeable future, as they pose a significant risk due to how they are used.  Where possible, fixed boundary microphones have been made available on the AV lectern as an alternative.

NUIT Audio Visual Services manage and support the audio-visual systems in all centrally supported (common user) spaces.

All spaces are provisioned with standard audio-visual equipment and many have enhanced facilities such as: -

To enable us to provide efficient remote technical support all centrally supported spaces have low quality, video only, network monitoring cameras installed.  Further information on the cameras and how they are used can be found here

AV systems in non-common user spaces are mainly supported by the respective NUIT Faculty IT teams.

If a technical problem occurs in any space please see the fault reporting process.
