The University's mail gateways will reject messages with attachments with the following extensions:

ade adp bas bat chm cmd com cpl
crt exe hlp hta inf ins isp js
jse lnk mdb mde msc msi
msp mst pcd pif reg scr sct shs shb
url vb vbe vbs wsc wsf wsh

The following extensions will also be rejected even if the files are within an archive file (zip, tar etc):

bat com cpl exe inf msi msp pif scr

Incoming messages are checked by an anti-virus scanner and any messages that appear to be infected are rejected.

The reason for rejection is reported to the sending system and this should be displayed in the non-delivery report returned to the sender.
